Funny animal (also talking animal) also refers to the genre of fiction in which such characters appear, in media such as illustrated children\'s books, comics, and animated cartoons.[1][citation needed] While many funny animal stories are light-hearted and humorous, with the funny characters often acting in a comedic and sometimes childish way, the genre also can also include dark or serious stories.
