These are videos of my life in the Philippines. In 1979 I went to Guam to be a missionary. I travelled in the Philippines in 1980 and went to seminary in Baguio in 1981. After returning to the U.S. I missed the Philippines and wanted to return. It took 40 years for that dream to come true. I met my wife online and then in person when she came to the U.S. for a tour. We got married in the courthouse and over a year later I retired and we moved to the Philippines. We spent the following year building my wife's dream house near her parents' house in Tacloban City, where we now live. We designed it to have a music room/office/man cave. I bought a piano for it and display the few records I shipped here, all my music books and other books, and many of my dad's paintings. We are involved in our UCCP church and that is where I have found friendships and opportunities to serve, through choir and home group leadership. We have a couple of good pastors and wonderful ministries for women and men. For 2 years I longed to have another motorcycle, so I began a careful study of what I would like to buy. I couldn't bring myself to have a typical small scooter with CVT. I wanted to shift and have some power. But mostly I wanted a very low seat height. In May of 2023 I purchased a 2018 Honda CMX500 (Rebel 500), a 471cc manual shift motorcycle. So, now I spent my time at home enjoying computer games, practicing the piano, studying and composing music, and riding my motorcycle.

ShineSeeker Series

ShineSeeker is a world, a realm, a movement, a thing inside and outside us. It is ultimately wherever we are. However, it is not to be defined but experienced, as its meaning evolves with the moment (you). It is not something you can pin. But ultimately at the heart of it, from one conscious perspective, it is a safe space to explore all parts of us that desire to be seen...shame, shadows and all. It is a space to channel this exploration through conversation and art. The mantra of this world is… “We do not seek attention, we seek to shine.” The root of our suffering is stagnancy. When we hide parts of ourselves we are denying a motion that by nature wants to be felt, to move, to be released. Although it can not be contained, imagine suppressing the ocean's current of its natural motion? It would explode. It would suffer but eventually find a way to resolve by any means. Such is the intelligence of life which resides in each one of us. Imagine a tree hiding its broken branches or holding back from new growth out of fear or embarrassment that its branches might not turn out the way the tree next to them has? Therefore, the tree is restricting its nature to shed leaves and grow therefore unable to share its gifts with the world, like to clean the air or provide a safe haven for squirrels to enjoy their harvest. We, humans also have gifts to offer which are presented in the brightness of our truest form. But we have a brain (a very powerful tool) which stores memories and can work in opposition to our natural desire to show up, to be seen in our truest form and share our gifts. We hold on to past versions of ourselves, internalize judgments which shame us into hiding. When we are seen and bare witness to others, as we are in the current moment, in all that we are in the current moment, shame, shadows, darkness and all, we shine. This is the expression of connection and true love. It is in our nature to shine and that can not be denied. Since our body is the vehicle of our emotional and spiritual experience in the physical realm, when we deny our nature to shine, it can create stress and inflammation in the body, dis-ease manifests, and symptoms begin to express themselves. Minerals and mindset are 2 foundational key players that fuel our ability to "shine" -to show up as our full selves in the current moment. How? In short, by increasing energy on a cellular level. While ShineSeeker does not always materialize in the form of communicating topics surrounding health specifically, the telling of minerals and their importance, are a foundation in which ShineSeeker could not possibly live without.
