Dedicated to the History of early Naval and Coastal Ordnance and the art of Gunnery. We enthusiastically explore its fascinating history and art and encourage further knowledge and understanding in this field. Our main focus is from the birth of naval ordnance around 1340s up until before the advent of rifled and breach loading guns. We strive to remain non-partisan at all times, embracing all histories and aspire to be the best group in this field for the discerning enthusiast We encourage active sharing and participation in all posts and discussions. We don\\\\\\\'t have any rules as such and only kindly request that posts be largely on topic, and that comments be constructive, courteous and civil. Irrelevant, confrontational, offensive, ideological, political, religious or racist comments will be removed, and violators may be muted. Consistent violations may lead to banning. We embrace preservation of this history through various endeavours such as living history museums and re-enactment societies. We support recognized clubs and organizations that continue the firing of smooth bore black power guns, either authentic historical pieces, replicas or scales replicas, within the framework of responsible use in accordance with all the relevant governing laws for recreational, educational or sporting purposes.
