This channel explores turn-based strategy game mechanics in the context of Heroes of Might and Magic, alongside some code and algorithms that implement them. For years, I've been tinkering with a game design inspired by the Heroes of Might and Magic series. I didn't like the direction that the series had taken with the later titles, so I tried to evolve it in my own way. As time went on, my design diverged from its Heroes roots. I realised that I'd probably never get to see how well it played because its mechanics were too far removed from existing Heroes games. In 2023, I decided to try my own hand at bringing these design efforts to life, in a fantasy world inspired by my novel A Wizard's Dream. I'm a programmer by trade, though I've spent my entire career in the financial industry. Game development is a very different beast. There's a lot to learn. I don't know where this project will end up, but I'm hoping to at least get to see the core mechanics from my design in action.
