Cat People responded with words like: calming, hilarious, snuggly, intelligent, playful, independent, loving, friendly and cute.There are many funny pictures and videos online of cats, as a matter of fact cats tend to rule the web. It bothers me, though, that words such as ‘jerk” and “as*hole” are often used in the headlines of said funny stories. I wonder if some of the humor we distribute feeds the negative perceptions many people have regarding cats. When looking for funny stories featuring cats to share on social media, I search for material that highlights the feline sense of humor in a positive way.

Cat love

People who love cats really love them, and people who don't like cats really don't like them—there's no in-between. As divisive as these creatures are, every cat lover understands why they make such amazing pets. Still, it's not always easy to put into words why you're so obsessed with your four-legged furball. (Cats are creatures of mystery, after all!) Because felines don't have the same reputation as other universally adored animals (we're looking at you, dogs) it's important to represent them well. The best way to do that? With an adorable Instagram post of your cat, obviously.

THE CATS AND THE DOGS

For all the times you’ve heard the phrase “fighting like cats and dogs” you’ve no doubt heard of cats and dogs who are best friends. So, what’s the deal? Can dogs and cats live together in harmony or are they destined to clash? Well, not all dogs will get along with cats and not all cats will enjoy life with a dog. However, puppies that were socialized with cats will be more comfortable around cats as adults, and the same is true for kittens and dogs. And some dog breeds are well suited to life with a cat and a few breeds simply aren’t. But for most breeds, if the dog is taught how to interact with the cat and the cat has escape zones, the two species can become fast friends or at the very least live together in peace.
