We believe that no child can consent to off-label chemical hormones and permanent surgical procedures. It is our duty to inform and support parents, to work toward increasing public knowledge and to pressure our socio-medical-political system into conducting itself from an evidence-based perspective. We know that children are being harmed by so-called “gender affirming care” every day in Canada with their once trusted medical and mental health bodies, schools, media and their government acting as catalysts for their desire and ease in accessing these experimental treatments. My name is Suvi Mahonen, and I'm a proud breastfeeding mum. I am so lucky to have had my beautiful little boy Spencer, after undergoing 33 rounds of IVF in three different countries over seven long years. I was 48 years old when he was born via caesarean section at Gold Coast Private Hospital. I believe there are many benefits of sharing our breastfeeding journeys including to educate women, and their partners, and their families and the global community, about the realities of breastfeeding, so that women are not embarrassed or shamed about, what inarguably is, the biological norm.
