Música clássica é um gênero musical erudito, caracterizado pela complexidade da instrumentação e por ser representada sob a forma de sinfonia, ópera ou outros tipos de desenvolvimentos musicais. Também conhecida por “música erudita”, os primórdios da música clássica podem ser remontados para o século IX, com base nas tradições da música sacra cristã ocidental. A sociedade: tradicionalmente, a música clássica ficou associada como um “bem” das sociedades refinadas e de intelectuais, excluindo tudo o que seja popular e proletário. Técnicas de execução: ao contrário da música popular, manifestada através de canções, a música clássica é composta por sinfonias, óperas, sonatas, entre outras formas mais complexas de desenvolvimento musical. A apresentação dos espetáculos: normalmente, a atmosfera construída na apresentação de um concerto de música clássica é formal e solene, ao contrário do que acontece em shows de músicos populares, por exemplo. Entre alguns dos principais compositores de músicas clássicas que ficaram marcados na história, destacam-se: Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, entre outros.
