The Refuge in the Barn is a gathering of God’s people professing Jesus Christ as Lord. Formerly known as Ekklesia12, the church was birthed during the times of oppression and lockdowns, to provide a place to worship freely. This vision of providing a place to seek the Lord, and be empowered to impact our community remains the same. At The Refuge In the Barn, you will experience emphasis on Spirit-led worship, the testimonies of those gathering, and the Bible preached faithfully in the midst of cultural confusion. We value each one coming, hoping to encourage you in your journey, and empower you to be an impact to your sphere of influence. We desire to be a gathering that ministers to the Lord with worship, prayer, and be a culture that brings honour to all who participate. As we abide in the Lord, we join with Him in ministry to others – to show practical care/support, to pray for healing of the body and soul, and to encourage one another with words of prophecy.

What is said is in contrast to an emotional approach: Most often, there are two possibilities of response to a voice of reason: 1) The person's role is ignored by the emotional members of the group; 2) The person's role is cast out by the mob. Women have never been oppressed, there is no 'male-dominated patriarchy', the wage gap has been debunked hundreds of times, and most men couldn't vote by the early 1900s. We must destroy Feminism and create a non-misandric women's movement that empowers women rather than claiming victimhood. We are God's people gathered to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the means of the Spirit. Our mission is to respond with activities that directly strengthen the Christian faith. St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church is a Missouri Synod congregation (LCMS). In the early 1850\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s, a group of emigrants from Germany settled in Town Sherman and held Lutheran worship services in their log-hut homes. God the Holy Trinity continues to bless St. John Lutheran Church as He has always done through her 165-year history in Sherman Center. While the names and faces have changed, God continues to keep His promise to call, gather, enlighten, and sanctify us through His Word and Spirit. Fifteen pastors preached, taught, baptized, and delivered Christ’s body and blood. Countless teachers taught the children of the congregation and community. Faithful laymen and laywomen gave freely to the congregation’s mission, governance, facilities, fellowship, and acts of service.
