In 2015 my wife and I decided to "get out of the city" and leave the rat race, congestion and chaos behind. We moved from Houston to the country in east Texas to be able to grow our own food and be more self sustainable. Welcome to That British Homestead, My name is Nik, you host here. We grow our own food in Essex, Zone 9a. I love sharing what we grow, how we grow it and all the mistakes and adventure along the way! We are passionate about organic gardening, saving seeds, growing our own food. We grow from seed and get a little better at growing each year! We have two allotments, cultivate our back and front gardens! We keep ducks, chickens and turkeys. We have a dog called Bailey and a child called Jasmine who are fantastic helpers!
