A Christmas Carol 1984
mmisskingSet in Victorian era London, commodities trader Ebenezer Scrooge is the OG archetypical, antisocial, anathema your mother warned you about. He declines his nephew's invitation for Christmas dinner. Reluctantly grants underpaid employee Bob Cratchit's request to have Christmas Day off. And on the list goes. At every turn, Scrooge needs redemption. He has had many decades to change. He never had time for family or friends, but stubbornly clung to all that was self-serving in his business. David Warner as Bob Cratchit. Susannah York as Mrs. Cratchit. Angela Pleasence as the Ghost of Christmas Past. Edward Woodward as the Ghost of Christmas Present. Roger Rees as Scrooge's nephew Fred. Based on "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens 1843. The film was directed by Clive Donner. Donner edited the 1951 "Scrouge" starring Alastair Sim.
