THE HORROR STREAM LIVESeason 4 Episode 3 Podcast 86 Originally aired Saturday, September 14, 2024. Wyrmwood - Road of the Dead (2014) Movie Review [Roger Ebert] Most horror fans will spend the first act of “Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead” ticking off the boxes of cinematic influences. There’s a little bit of George Romero. There’s a gory splash of Peter Jackson. There’s an angled zoom stolen straight from Sam Raimi. And why does this whole thing remind me of “Mad Max”? While the fine line between homage and plagiarism may be crossed for some, debut director Kiah Roache-Turner commits so completely to the insanity of his melting pot concept that he won me over with sheer force. Adam Wingard told me that he literally dreamed up “The Guest” after watching “Halloween” and “The Terminator” on the same night. One could see Roache-Turner having a similar vision that led to “Wyrmwood” after a double feature of “Dawn of the Dead” and “Mad Max”. https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/wyrmwood-2014 “Vampira and Her Daughters” by Robert Michael “Bobb” Cotter [Basement of the Bizarre] Horror hosts have been around almost as long as television has shown horror movies. Back in the day, before corporations took over all of the local television stations, said station would try to maintain a local feel that extended beyond the news. Some of these stations would have local kids’ clubs, Dialing for Dollars movies and of course, usually late at night, horror movies that were usually hosted by a ghoulish character that would oftentimes entertain the viewer during the commercial breaks. https://basementofthebizarre.com/2020/04/13/the-basement-book-shelf-vampira-and-her-daughters-by-robert-michael-bobb-cotter/ Desert Of The Undead New Frontiers [RetroBro Gaming] Slaughter the Undead In This 8 Bit Run-n-gun Desert Of The Undead is a fast-paced action old school run n gun platformer. Eddie (Eddie the Head if we’re being formal) is the long-running mascot for British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden. Over time, Eddie has become synonymous with the group and is one of the biggest pieces of iconography in metal. Not only has the mascot graced countless pieces of official album and single artwork, but various versions of Eddie have appeared onstage (on backdrops and as props), on T-shirts, in video games and heaps of other merchandise. https://loudwire.com/where-did-iron-maiden-mascot-eddie-come-from/ Mike Lombardo [Real Splatter Productions] Mike Lombardo grew up on a steady diet of Goosebumps, scary story books, 90’s Nickelodeon, and horror PC games. He is an award-winning independent filmmaker, writer & FX artist who runs Reel Splatter Productions. In 2017, his first feature film, I’m Dreaming of a White Doomsday, played the festival circuit around the world, taking home 7 awards including multiple Best Picture and Best Actress wins, and over a dozen nominations. On the surface the answer seems clear. Zombies are generally considered to be after one thing, and one thing only: living flesh. Therefore, a zombie would pass right by an available dead body and continue hunting the living. But it may not be as simple as that. https://zombieresearchsociety.com/archives/1751 The 25 best horror movie remakes to make you scream this Halloween [Total Film] From Dawn of the Dead to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, these are the best horror movie remakes https://www.gamesradar.com/best-horror-movie-remakes/ Monsterman Graphic [Official Website] Artwork and Graphics Designed to Get Results Digital Design & Graphics • Custom Artwork • Handcrafted Illustration • Branding • Web Design Services https://monstermangraphic.com/ My First Trip Abroad by Vincent Price [Vincent Price Journal] On the 5th of September 1928, a young 17-year-old Vincent Price arrived back in St Louis, Missouri following a two-month tour of Europe, where he got to lay his eyes of the classic masterpieces of the artists he so admired for the very first time, and explored the sights and the amazing nightlife of places like Monte Carlo and Paris with his fellow travelling companions. Season 4 Episode 2 Podcast 85
THE HORROR STREAM LIVESeason 4 Episode 2 Podcast 85 Originally aired Saturday, September 7, 2024. John Carpenter’s Feature Films [Official Website] https://theofficialjohncarpenter.com/feature-films/ Death Race (1976) Arcade Video Game [Moby Games] Death Raceis a vehicular combat game that puts your car in an open space with gremlins. Your goal is to crash into the gremlins so you can brutally and cruelly kill them. Upon dying, they scream. In the spot where the gremlin once was, a cross-shaped gravestone will be left. This clutters the playing field, making it harder to move around. There are dotted lines on the sides, representing two narrow "safe" zones on the left and right sides of the screen for the gremlins, as your car will crash on contact with the dotted lines. https://www.mobygames.com/game/64102/death-race/ Dungeon Crawler Carl – Season 1, Episode 1, Thank You for Volunteering – Immersion Tunnel [Soundbooth Theater] Series: Dungeon Crawler Carl Narration: Jeff Hays Featuring: Emma Kate Starling, Justin Thomas James, Heath Miller, Gary Furlong, Ryan H. Or local locale. The beach is the important part here. They usually involve a vacation of some sort, and lots of partying, and they most definitely involve a bevy of lovely ladies running around in skimpy bikinis, usually while fighting for their lives. Throughout the Summer, we're going to be highlighting the Summer Horror movies that feature the best bikini-clad ladies, because eye candy and terror go hand in hand. Especially in the Summer. Plus, we need stuff to watch that feels seasonally appropriate. https://thehorrorclub.blogspot.com/2016/06/horror-hotties-girls-of-summer-part-1.html Reapers Horror [Rumble] Welcome to Reapers Horror, a channel devoted to bringing you the stuff nightmares are made of! The term has also come to refer to any large-budget production intended for "blockbuster" status, aimed at mass markets with associated merchandising, sometimes on a scale that meant the financial fortunes of a film studio or a distributor could depend on it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockbuster_(entertainment) Another World’s Zombie Apocalypse Is Not My Problem Review [The OASG] The title is a little misleading. Another World’s Zombie Apocalypse Is Not My Problem! sounds like the protagonist has no interest in helping stem an outbreak of zombies. Mizuha, like most isekai story main characters, was just an ordinary person, so isn’t thrilled about getting thrust into a dangerous situation. But she’s not indifferent to the problem as the title of this one-volume light novel might suggest. It’s more like I Wouldn’t Mind Stopping a Zombie Apocalypse So Much If It Didn’t Involve Calling Me a Priestess or Requesting My Spit! https://www.theoasg.com/reviews/light-novel/another-worlds-zombie-apocalypse-is-not-my-problem-review/14356 Thrillerfest [Official Website] ThrillerFest is the annual conference of the International Thriller Writers. It was a groundbreaking horror film from 1974 about a group of young people who were targeted by a cannibalistic family, with one member of said family infamously wielding a chainsaw. It helped introduce the cinematic potential of the item as a weapon and remains a staple of pop culture thanks to various sequels and remakes. However, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre does not have a monopoly on the mechanical power tool/improvised weapon, as the following movies demonstrate. All are examples of notable chainsaw usages outside the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. Interestingly, all were released after 1974, too, perhaps demonstrating the trendsetting, influential nature of the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. https://collider.com/best-chainsaw-movies-that-arent-the-texas-chainsaw-massacre/ 7 Early PS2 Horror Games Almost No One Remembers [Game Rant] Two decades ago, the horror genre in video games was truly hitting its stride. The 90s brought the jump to 3D graphics, while the 2000s gave fans classics in the genre, like Silent Hill 2, that have captured the minds of fans to this day. But it was the early 2000s that gave players a look at just what the PlayStation 2 could do to immerse them in a truly frightening world with its graphical capabilities. It also forecasted just what the future held for the ever-popular genre of games. However, the genre being as prolific as it was, meant that some of its best have been lost to time. https://gamerant.com/ps2-horror-games-no-one-remembers/ Mini Review - Killer Klowns from Outer Space The Game (PS5) - A Lacking Attempt on a Cult Classic [Push Square] What’s so enduring about the 1988 comedy-horror movie Killer Klowns from Outer Space is its stalwart dedication to the bit. Almost every kill the klowns make refers to some comedy act or circus trick, from shadow puppets scarfing down a group of pensioners to a puppet show turning into a shootout. Unfortunately, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game doesn’t match its freak. https://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps5/killer-klowns-from-outer-space-the-game Bad Ronald (1974) Movie Review [DVD Panache] Earlier this month I wrote about my 12 Must (somehow Sees) -- rare or hard to find movies I long to view. I had little hope of watching any of these movies, but that was before good samaritan and all-around awesome blogger Marty McKee basically gave me a "step inside my office." Through Marty's goodwill, I will be able to cross two of those movies off my list, including the one I had most wanted to see -- Bad Ronald. A 1974 television movie, it seems like I've been aware of Bad Ronald for a long time, though I'm not sure when I first learned about it. I had high expectations for this movie, and am happy to say that they were largely exceeded. https://dvdpanache.blogspot.com/2008/09/bad-boy-in-house.html Late Night with the Devil (2024) Exposes Evil Hollywood and is Deeper Than Most Horror [Reel Shift] My review of Late Night With The Devil the new demon possession horror film with a twist! Outside of the 1998 remake, this is the only installment not to feature Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates as Kurt Paul portrays the character. The film premiered on July 5, 1987. It is a direct sequel to Psycho, ignoring the other sequels. The film is about Alex West, a mentally disturbed youth who was admitted to an asylum after killing his abusive stepfather. There he befriends Norman and ends up inheriting the Bates Motel. It was originally produced as a pilot for a proposed TV series set in the Bates Motel, but it was not picked up by the network. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bates_Motel_(film) Remember The Video Game In Jaws, It Was Killer Shark By Sega [The Bearded Trio] Sega Killer Shark "Video" Game This cabinet can be seen in the movie Jaws on the beach. It resembles the Same Sea Devil also by Sega, but Sea Devil had a manta ray instead of a shark. https://www.thebeardedtrio.com/2020/08/remember-video-game-in-jaws-it-was.html Dead Silence by SA Barnes Book Review [Reading with My Eyes] Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes is a horror novel that takes place in a science fiction setting. This novel reminded heavily of the science fiction film starring Lawerence Fishburn and Sam Neil called Event Horizon. Both stories have space ghost, a character just wanting to see a loved one who was separated, and eye gouging. This novel had all that I could want, but it took me a really long time to connect with these characters. I started really enjoying myself 50% in. The pace drastically picks up and the novel gets good. There’s a couple of good twists that I did not see coming. The ending is full of action and some clever twists. The beginning really made me work it, I don’t think it was ever in the do not finish category, but it was so hard to connect to any of the side characters, and Claire the main character took a while to connect as well. The highlight of this book is the madness and the horror that comes with it, it made me look around my dark room once or twice and felt my chest pounding. https://readingwithmyeyes.wordpress.com/2022/04/27/book-review-dead-silence-by-s-a-barnes/ The Phantasm ’Cuda [Dodge Garage] Whether the film makes you cry out in fear or burst out in laughter, the creepy, corny cult classic Phantasm is must-see horror flick for any Mopar® fan. The game utilizes a foggy atmosphere to inhibit the player’s vision while they control Harry Mason on the search for his missing adopted daughter. Its unforgettable landscape and horrific features spawned an entire franchise of films and video game sequels. The Exorcist (1973) Movie Review [The Classic Horror Film Board] Ok, this is inspired by the other thread about the Exorcist where it's being debated where Karras regains his faith. In fact, it’s not exaggeration to claim that her immortal role in Bride of Frankenstein can easily make her the ultimate Siren in history, considering that this unique character may be the ultimate female role in a horror movie. Nothing less! I enjoyed Bride of Frankenstein for the first time in a simple house in the country, around 2 AM, on a PBS station that our black & white TV set could get when the weather permitted it. As the movie flashed by before my eyes, I was more and more assured that it would became my all-time favorite movie of the horror genre… which is the case more than 25 years later. Needless to say, Elsa Lanchester’s inestimable contribution played a big part for my love toward the film. https://cultsirens.com/lanchester/lanchester.htm Horror City (1989) Game Review [VG Junk] This is a computer game about using a gun to shoot things. Season 3 Episode 25 Podcast 82
THE HORROR STREAM LIVESeason 3 Episode 25 Podcast 82 Originally aired Saturday, February 10, 2023. Children Of The Damned (1964) Movie Review [British Horror Films] This is technically a sequel to Village Of The Damned, although it has little to do with the first film and stands up more than adequately on its own. It starts with the credits playing over a picture of a kid equally as scary-looking as any in the first film (more so, given his lack of odd blonde wig). https://www.britishhorrorfilms.co.uk/children-of-the-damned GORE GAZETTE Premiere Issue #1 [J4HI] The Gore Gazette was a typed, Xeroxed and (initially) free fanzine dedicated to supporting the kinds of films overlooked by the mainstream. Twisted horror, import sleaze, drug expose, toilet humor, and of course lots of gore. All the ingredients of a life spent slithering from one 42nd Street grindhouse to the next. It was written, edited and published by Rick Sullivan out of New Jersey. He haunted the screens of New York's infamous 42nd Street (or "The Deuce") and also the seedier screens of New Jersey (most notably the infamous Fabian Theater in Paterson, NJ). When reading through this feature keep in mind that the GG was published at a time before the internet, before special edition double-disc dvds (with commentary), before soccer moms knew what the term "grindhouse" meant! Back when a film like Cannibal Holocaust played in a few theaters, for a few weeks, in a few cities and then disappeared! If you wanted to see the film in it's uncut form again the wait would be 20 years! If you missed it on "The Deuce"... it was a long wait. Zines like Gore Gazette, Sleazoid Express, Psychotronic, Slimetime, The Splatter Times and many others were in the trenches to report what was happening. So it's worth remembering some devoted publishers who didn't have the IMDB, Video Watchdog and a Blu-ray player to help out as they wrote film reviews. To paraphrase a little from Criswell in Plan 9 From Outer Space: "You are interested in the unknown, the mysterious, the unexplainable. That is why you are here. And now for the first time we are bringing to you the full story of what happened. We are giving you all the evidence based only on the secret testimony of the miserable souls who survived this terrifying ordeal. The incidents, the places - we cannot keep this a secret any longer. My friend, can your heart stand the shocking facts about..." https://www.j4hi.com/page15/page211/GORE-GAZETTE-issue-1.html Cannibal Holocaust [Official Website] Banned and heavily censored throughout the world, here is a film that surpasses its reputation as a shotgun blast to the senses. http://www.cannibalholocaust.net/ Cube (1997) Movie Review [Canuxploitation] Made with the help of Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Centre, Cube is a film about five characters who suddenly find themselves being held in a large cube, made up of smaller cubes that connect through steel doors in the middle of all 6 sides of the individual "cells." https://www.canuxploitation.com/review/cube.html Eve (2020) Movie Review [British Horror Revival] A psychological thriller set against the iconic backdrop of London’s Notting Hill. I've reviewed Halloween III on this site before for one of my October challenges, so there's not a ton more that I can say about it. It's a real fun Halloween movie even if (or perhaps because) it has nothing to do with the rest of the series. Although most of it is pretty silly, it's aged well and certainly has more fans now than when it first came out. Halloween III gets 4 out of 6 beers. https://bastardofcinema.blogspot.com/2015/10/halloween-iii-season-of-witch.html Psychic Killer Frogs from Outer Space [DasThief] A psychic killer frog (from outer space) attacks a small town. Season 3 Episode 24 Podcast 81
THE HORROR STREAM LIVESeason 3 Episode 24 Podcast 81 Originally aired Saturday, February 3, 2023. Prince of Darkness (1987) Movie Review [The Bedlam Files] Some commentators would have you believe this 1987 low budgeter is one of John Carpenter’s biggest failures, while others maintain that it’s a masterwork. I say both views are wrong. PRINCE OF DARKNESS can be characterized as a misfire, but contains enough interesting things to earn a qualified recommendation. https://thebedlamfiles.com/film/prince-of-darkness/ The True Father of Fantasy (Free Ebook) [The Obelisk] The Irish Lord who Inspired Tolkien, Howard and Lovecraft https://theobelisk.substack.com/p/the-true-father-of-fantasy-free-ebook Frankie Avalon Biography [Brian’s Drive-In Theater] Born Francis Avallone in Philadelphia on September 18, 1939, Frankie Avalon first came to the attention of American Bandstand's Dick Clark while still in high school. He cut his first album in 1958 but had been making recordings for several years prior to that, primarily as a trumpeter, not a singer. As a youth, Avalon mastered the trumpet and at age 13 was featured on the CBS TV series The Jackie Gleason Show during its first season. A few years later, when he traded his trumpet for a microphone, Avalon was featured in the rock and roll film Jamboree (1957; with Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis). In 1958, the young singer signed with Chancellor Records and, between 1958 and 1962, he charted 13 singles in the Billboard Top 40, including two number one hits: Venus topped the charts for five weeks in early 1959, and Why shot to number one in early 1960. http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/frankieavalon.html Svengoolie – Horror Host [MeTV] Svengoolie has been the premier horror show icon of Chicago, since multiple Emmy award winner Rich Koz became the hand-picked successor to the original Svengoolie back in the late '70s. He has appeared on a national basis on MeTV since April 2011 - and generations of viewers have become fans of the monstrous mirth and movies that this video vampire dispenses every week over the airwaves. https://www.metv.com/svengoolie/faq Who was the real Normal Bates – Part 3 of 4 [The Astounding B Monster] Fans of vintage horror films tend not to be drawn to the exploits of real-life serial killers; for our "fixes" of macabre mayhem, we turn instead to the silver screen and the (generally bloodless) bloodbaths harmlessly play-acted on Hollywood sound stages. And yet the name Ed Gein is familiar to most horror fans: We know that the shiftless, middle-aged Wisconsin ne'er-do-well was responsible for a string of grisly backwoods killings and mutilations (not always in that order), and the reason we know is because Robert Bloch reportedly used him as the model for the character of Norman Bates in the novel Psycho. https://bmonster.com/horror29.html VHS Store Sales Demo – Horror Hot Properties (1987) [Demolition Kitchen Video] An HBO Cannon Home VHS Video promo for horror film releases, including clips from Dawn of the Dead, Return of the Living Dead, Martin, The Howling II, The Evil Dead, Martin, The Being, Blacula, The Babysitter, Xtro, and The Hill Have Eyes II from 1986. https://archive.org/details/vhs-promo-hot-horror-properties-01 These 17 Horror Movie Franchises Are Coming Back to Life in 2024 [Bloody Disgusting] Less than a full month into the New Year, we already have a running list of over 50 horror movies that we cannot wait to see in 2024, and one thing we noticed when looking over that list is that a lot of horror franchises are making big returns in the coming eleven months. https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3797308/horror-movie-franchises-are-coming-back-to-life-in-2024/ Elvira, Mistress of the Dark [Official Website] When you hear the name Elvira only one person comes to mind: Horror icon and quintessential symbol of all things spooky, the one and only Mistress of the Dark. https://www.elvira.com/about Savage Cinema Magazine Issue 1, January 2003 [Official Website] When you hear the words Doctor Butcher M.D., several different thoughts can be going through your head. Those few simples words may bring back images of the 1982 premiere at many of the seedy 42nd street theatres, or the flatbed Butcher mobile driving up and down the streets of Jersey and Manhattan. Posters of the mad doctor fill the walls of the old movie house. Cheesy lobby cards lie to your right on a little stool as you walk past the concession stand. The smell of cheap cigars, stale whiskey, and schwag fill your nostrils as you enter the room where the movie is about to begin. You walk through the rows of seats hoping to find one without a partially used syringe or dampened with fluid from someone who watched the latest John Holmes film an hour earlier. Once the movie begins all your fears and paranoia start to go away. Your sucked into the dementia of bad acting, cheesy effects, and the long legs of Alexandra Delli Colli. https://savagecinema.com/issue1.htm Bear Essentials – Twelve Films Featuring Maulers and Man-Eaters [The B-Movie Film Vault] Bears have been a mainstay in cinema for decades, often populating children’s films and frequently utilized as furry plot devices to create some thrills, tension, or laughs in movies of all genres! Season 3 Episode 23 Podcast 80
THE HORROR STREAM LIVESeason 3 Episode 23 Podcast 80 Originally aired Saturday, January 27, 2023. The Vampire Chronicles (1976-2016) [Anne Rice] "The theatrical rights to the Vampire Chronicles are once again in my hands, free and clear! I could not be more excited about this! --- A television series of the highest quality is now my dream for Lestat, Louis, Armand, Marius and the entire tribe. In this the new Golden Age of television, such a series is THE way to let the entire story of the vampires unfold. --- My son Christopher Rice and I will be developing a pilot script and a detailed outline for an open ended series, faithfully presenting Lestat’s story as it is told in the books, complete with the many situations that readers expect to see. We will likely begin with “The Vampire Lestat” and move on from there. ----- When we sit down finally to talk to producers, we will have a fully realized vision of this project with Christopher as the executive producer at the helm. I will also be an executive producer all the way. ---- Again, I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to be able to announce this. ---- As many of you know, Universal Studios and Imagine Entertainment had optioned the series to develop motion pictures from it, and though we had the pleasure of working with many fine people in connection with this plan, it did not work out. It is, more than ever, abundantly clear that television is where the vampires belong. ---- Over the years you all have told me how much you want to see a “Game of Thrones” style faithful rendering of this material, and how much you want for the series to remain in my control. Well, I have heard you. I have always heard you. What you want is what I want. --- You, the readers, made these books a success before any movie was ever made based on them, and I will never forget that fact. ---- Christopher and I will be posting many questions on the page for your input in the days to come. ----- I am filled with optimism this morning about the future for my beloved Brat Prince. What better way to start a tour for the new book!" http://annerice.com/Bookshelf-VampireChronicles.html The Midnight Swim (2015) Movie Review [Nightmarish Conjurings] THE MIDNIGHT SWIM is the debut feature film directed by Sarah Adina Smith. Smith also directed Buster’s Mal Heart which was a film that made a great impression on me. I have always heard that THE MIDNIGHT SWIM was another film that I had to see, and now I can say that I am happy that I did. https://www.nightmarishconjurings.com/2022/03/02/movie-review-the-midnight-swim/ Racks and Razors [Official Website] After almost 7 months, Derek Young and Greg Tiderington have a summer show for all of you on their newest podcast show with a review and an interview on an actor by having a somewhat promising career in independent horror flicks!!!!. Sounds like sequels are in the works or are already coming out such as Slaughterhouse 2 in which Sherry Bendorf Leigh reprises her role as she wasn't dead like the ending of the 1987 flick suggested. It's written and directed by Rick Roessler who was behind the original but the story apparently is going to be in a different direction since Joe Barton who played Buddy died years ago. However Buddy's brother that was mentioned in the first flick is going to be in this one. The next Saw sequel will be in cinemas this October 27th for all you trick or treaters as Tobin Bell returns as Jigsaw which is exciting to have another one to watch just as we wondered if the series came to an end. Insidious: The Red Door is hitting theatre's this week as their films are great to watch. The plot is about the Lamberts going deeper into The Further than ever before to put their demons to rest once and for all. The new Exorcist (No this definetely isn't a remake!!!) will be also be hitting theatre's nationwide during the Halloween season as Ellyn Burstyn reprises her role as Chris MacNeill but Linda Blair sadly doesn't return as her daughter. It's great that horror sequels are back in action and remakes are fading out as it was getting very ridiculous!!!!! https://racksandrazors.com/introduction.html Interview With David Friedman [Bad Movies] The first "Blood Feast" was released in 1963 and it has been nearly twenty years since H.G. Lewis directed a film. What is the personal side of your working relationship? Friends or just associates who enjoy making the same type of films? Although Herschell and I went our separate ways after "Color Me Blood Red" in 1964 we have remained close friends. (We had made eleven features together between 1959 and 1964.) We see each other often and correspond weekly. https://www.badmovies.org/interviews/davidfriedman/ 5 Essential Italian Cannibal Movies [Attack from Planet B] If you are looking for a subgenre of horror that emphasized graphic violence and shock value above all else, look no further than the Italian cannibal movies of the 1970s and 1980s. Evolving from Mondo cinema, Italian filmmakers like Umberto Lenzi and Ruggero Deodato would exploit xenophobic fears of exotic customs; their movies often depicting ‘civilized’ westerners running afoul of cannibalistic natives. Whilst most cannibal movies focused on nothing more than provoking extreme disgust – often through rape, torture, and real animal cruelty – a few titles stand out due to their social commentary; it is often the westerners that are the first to perpetrate violence upon the natives due to their ‘uncivilized’, misunderstood culture. Censors around the world felt a deep repugnance for the subgenre – four out of the five cannibal movies on this list were deemed ‘video nasties’ in the United Kingdom and effectively banned for almost two decades – which only made them more desirable. https://www.attackfromplanetb.com/2021/06/5-essential-italian-cannibal-movies/ twice the thrills – twice the chills [Awesomeness For Awesome’s Sake] Hey Boners! Guess what? You’re ol’ pal, Canacorn, has stumbled back into the blog-o-sphere (are the kids still calling it that these days?) for a quickie post about horror movies. I’ll let cole explain what it’s all about: “the concept is pretty basic – you have one theater for one halloween night. what double feature do you program and why? two films and your motivations for selecting them, otherwise no limits. i leave it to your unfettered imaginations.” Sounds easy enough, right? Right! So let’s get to it! Initially, I thought a David Cronenberg body horror double feature would be pretty sweet…. https://mrcanacorn.wordpress.com/2010/10/07/twice-the-thrills-twice-the-chills/ Hell Comes To Frogtown (1988) Movie Review [Bad Movie Realm] The world has been decimated by nuclear war. 68% of all men were killed in the great war and the majority of the remaining population are sterile due to high levels of radiation. So be nice to your Mom... she brought you into this world, and you never know when she might take you out. https://www.buried.com/holidayhorror/mothers-day-movies.shtml John Colicos [Arbogast on Film] If a man dies screaming and no one is there to hear it... https://arbogastonfilm.blogspot.com/2012/10/31-screams-john-colicos.html?zx=a63cec1a4eb135b Halloween Decorations [Atmos FX] https://atmosfx.com/collections/halloween Stopmotion trailer – puppet horror film starring Aisling Franciosi gets February release date [JoBlo] A trailer has been released for the horror film Stopmotion, starring Aisling Franciosi and coming soon to theatres and Shudder https://www.joblo.com/stopmotion-trailer/ Hall of Fame [Oh, the Horror] Welcome to Oh, the Horror!'s Hall of Fame!
