With 2024 and the holidays behind us and having recently played Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, let's begin the start of a new year by hosting a relaxing evening with our first watch party of 2025 with the film that launched a franchise! Released by Paramount Pictures from the minds of Star wars creator George Lucas, writers Lawrence Kasdan and Phillip Kaufman with acclaimed director Steven Spielberg, it's 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark! Let's follow adventure and archeologist Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) on this globe trotting adventure set in 1936 as he races against a rival named Beloq (Paul Freeman) the rising German regime to who has sent a man named Toht (Ronald Lacey) to discover the location of the lost ark of the covenant. Along the way, we'll meet the spirited Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) the daughter of Egyptologist archeologist Abner Ravenwood who posses a medallion that could help Indiana find the lost ark itself and his friend Sallah (John Rhys Davies) who knows of the dangers associated with finding the long lost relic.
