In today's episode we will be doing jumping into the Sega realm and running through Flashback on the Sega CD. Flashback ====== In the year 2142, intelligence agent Conrad B. Hart discovers that shapeshifting aliens known as Morphs have infiltrated human society. He records a message to himself, but before he can warn anyone else, he is captured and his memory erased. He later escapes, but crash-lands his vehicle in a jungle, where the gameplay begins as he drops his recorded message. The North American Mega Drive and Mega-CD versions include a comic in their instruction manuals, created by Marvel, that covers the events preceding the game. ======= What is the Summer of '85 Challenge? ======= This challenge is a predetermined list of 85 games that I have come up with that I need to finish as quickly as I can. The goal is to finish no later than the the last of Summer...if not sooner. Each game will be timed to tally overall time taken per game. These aren't official speedruns but should a game qualify it will be submitted to Speedrun.com. This challenge was previously done last year on Twitch with a similar outline that ran from 6/21/2022-9/22/2022. This time we are going to start a little earlier but running from the unoffical start of summer (US Memorial Day) to the unofficial end (US Labor Day) 5/29/2023-9/4/2023. Welcome in! In today's episode we will be doing a run through of Earthworm Jim: Special edition on the Sega CD. So sit back and enjoy the ride! ==== Earthworm Jim ==== Jim wasn't always a studly super-worm. He was once just a spineless, dirt-eater with no real mission in his life... But then something unexpected happened. The evil Psy-Crow was transporting a super suit, built by the genius Professor Monkey-For-A-Head, to Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Pus-Filled, Malformed, Slug-For-A-Butt, but along the way it was stolen by a rebel. Although Psy-Crow killed the rebel, the suit fell down to Earth, landing on an Earth Worm. That cosmic twist of fate placed Jim in control of an ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-cyber-suit. Anyway, Earthworm Jim found out that Princess What's-Her-Name had been captured and set out to save her. Meanwhile, there's a bounty on Jimmy and plenty of people are in line to take Queen Slug-For-A-Butt up on her offer. Now Jim must make it to the princess and stay clear of Psy-Crow, the intergalactic bounty hunter, until the final battle with Queen Slug-For-A-Butt. Welcome to the channel! We are going to be doing a quick run of Castlevania Symphony of the Night and then diving into a first playthrough of Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance! Castlevania: SOTN ================= The game's story takes place during the year 1797, 5 years after the events of Rondo of Blood and begins with Richter Belmont's defeat of Count Dracula, mirroring the end of the former game. However, despite Dracula being defeated, Richter vanishes without a trace. Castlevania rises again five years later, and while there are no Belmonts to storm the castle, Alucard, the son of Dracula, awakens from his self-induced sleep, and decides to investigate what transpired during his slumber. Meanwhile, Maria Renard, Richter's sister-in-law, enters Castlevania herself to search for the missing Richter.
