Paul McCartney and Wings, often billed simply as Wings, were an English-American rock band formed in 1971 in London by former Beatles bassist and singer Paul McCartney, his wife Linda McCartney on keyboards, session drummer Denny Seiwell, and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine. Wings were noted for their commercial successes, musical eclecticism and frequent personnel changes; going through three lead guitarists and four drummers. However, the core trio of the McCartneys and Laine remained intact throughout the group's existence.

Paul McCartney ) McCartney ) 1970 (Red Vinyl 2017)
The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. McCartney is the debut solo album by English musician Paul McCartney, released on 17 April 1970 by Apple Records. McCartney recorded it in secrecy, mostly using basic home-recording equipment at his house in St John's Wood. Mixing and some recording took place at professional London studios. In its loosely arranged performances, McCartney eschewed the polish of the Beatles' past records in favour of a lo-fi style. Apart from occasional contributions by his wife, Linda, McCartney performed the entire album alone by overdubbing on four-track tape. McCartney recorded the album during a period of depression and confusion, following John Lennon's private departure from the Beatles in September 1969. McCartney received mostly negative reviews, while McCartney was vilified for seemingly ending the Beatles. The record was widely criticised for being under-produced and for its unfinished songs, although the ballad "Maybe I'm Amazed" was consistently singled out for praise. Commercially, McCartney benefited from the publicity surrounding the break-up; it held the number 1 position for 3 weeks on the US Billboard Top LPs before yielding that position to Let It Be. It peaked at number 2 in Britain. Paul and Linda McCartney ) Ram ) 1971 (Yellow Vinyl 2017)
The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. Ram is the only studio album credited to the husband-and-wife music duo Paul and Linda McCartney, and the former’s 2nd album post-Beatles. Released on 17 May 1971 by Apple Records, it was recorded in New York with guitarists David Spinozza and Hugh McCracken, and future Wings drummer Denny Seiwell. Single "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" became McCartney's 1st number 1 hit in America without the Beatles. The album's release coincided with a period of acrimony between McCartney and his former Beatle bandmates, and followed his legal action in the UK's High Court to dissolve the Beatles partnership. Today, Ram is held in high regard by many music critics and is often ranked as one of McCartney's best albums. Personnel: Paul McCartney – lead and harmony vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, ukulele on "Ram On", bass, piano, keyboards Linda McCartney – harmony and backing vocals; co-lead vocals on "Long Haired Lady" David Spinozza – guitar on "3 Legs", "Eat at Home", "The Back Seat of My Car", and "Another Day" Hugh McCracken – guitar Denny Seiwell – drums Heather McCartney – backing vocals on "Monkberry Moon Delight" Marvin Stamm – flugelhorn on "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" New York Philharmonic on "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey","Long Haired Lady", and "The Back Seat of My Car" 🔘 Side 1: Too Many People 3 Legs Ram On Dear Boy Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey Smile Away 🔘 Side 2: Heart of the Country Monkberry Moon Delight Eat at Home Long Haired Lady Ram On (Reprise) The Back Seat of My Car540 views 2 comments -

Wild Life is the debut studio album by the British-American rock band Wings and the 3rd studio album by Paul McCartney after the breakup of the Beatles. The album was mainly recorded in 7 sessions between 24 July and 4 September 1971 (additional overdubs were added during sessions in October 1971), at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) by McCartney, his wife Linda, session drummer Denny Seiwell, whom they had worked with on the McCartneys' previous album Ram, and guitarist Denny Laine, formerly of the English rock band the Moody Blues, with Tony Clark and Alan Parsons engineering. It was released by Apple Records on 7 December in the UK and US, to lukewarm critical and commercial reaction. Paul McCartney and Wings ) Red Rose Speedway ) 1973
The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. Red Rose Speedway is the 2nd studio album by the English-American rock band Wings, although credited to "Paul McCartney and Wings". It was released through Apple Records on 5 May 1973, preceded by its lead single, the ballad "My Love". Including McCartney's name in the artist credit was made in the belief that the public's unfamiliarity with the band had been responsible for the weak commercial performance of the group's 1971 debut album Wild Life. Red Rose Speedway peaked at number 5 on the UK Albums Chart and number 1 on the Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart in the US, while "My Love" topped the US Billboard Hot 100. Although a commercial success, the album was given a mixed response by music critics, with several reviewers considering the songs to be inconsequential and mediocre. The album was remastered in 2018 as part of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection. Wings: Paul McCartney – lead vocals, bass, piano, guitars, electric piano, Mellotron, celeste, Moog synthesizer, ocarina Linda McCartney – vocals, piano, organ, electric piano, electric harpsichord, percussion Denny Laine – vocals, guitars, bass, harmonica Henry McCullough – lead guitars, backing vocals, percussion Denny Seiwell – drums, percussion 🔘 Side 1: Big Barn Bed My Love Get on the Right Thing One More Kiss Little Lamb Dragonfly 🔘 Side 2: Single Pigeon When the Night Loup (1st Indian on the Moon) Medley Hold Me Tight Lazy Dynamite Hands of Love Power Cut535 views -
Paul McCartney and Wings ) Band on the Run ) 1973 (White Vinyl 2017)
The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. Band on the Run is the 3rd studio album by the British–American rock band Paul McCartney and Wings, released by Apple on 30 November 1973. It was McCartney's 5th album after leaving the Beatles in April 1970. Although sales were modest initially, its commercial performance was aided by two hit singles – "Jet" & "Band on the Run" – such that it became the top-selling studio album of 1974 in the UK and Australia, in addition to revitalising McCartney's critical standing. It remains McCartney's most successful album and the most celebrated of his post-Beatles works. The album was mostly recorded at EMI's studio in Lagos, Nigeria, as McCartney wanted to make an album in an exotic location. Shortly before departing for Lagos, drummer Denny Seiwell and guitarist Henry McCullough left the group. With no time to recruit replacements, McCartney went into the studio with just his wife Linda and Denny Laine. McCartney therefore played bass, drums, percussion and most of the lead guitar parts. The studio was of poor quality and conditions in Nigeria were tense and difficult; the McCartneys were robbed at knifepoint, losing a bag of song lyrics and demo tapes. After the band's return to England, final overdubs and further recording were carried out in London, mostly at AIR Studios. It was McCartney's last album released on Apple Records. Wings ) Venus and Mars ) 1975 (Yellow/Red Split Vinyl 2017)
The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. Venus and Mars is the 4th studio album by the British–American rock band Wings. Released in May 1975 as the follow-up to Band on the Run, Venus and Mars continued Wings' run of commercial success and provided a springboard for a year-long worldwide tour. The album was Paul McCartney's 1st post-Beatles album to be released worldwide by Capitol Records rather than Apple. Recording sessions for the album took place in London, New Orleans and Los Angeles in November 1974 and early 1975. McCartney recruited guitarist Jimmy McCulloch and drummer Geoff Britton to the band, but during the recording sessions, personal tensions caused Britton to quit after six months, forcing the band to recruit American drummer Joe English to finish the album. Venus and Mars peaked at number 1 in the US, the UK and other countries around the world. It has been certified Platinum in US and UK. The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. At The Speed Of Sound is the 5th studio album by the British–American rock band Wings, released on 26 March 1976. Issued at the height of the band's popularity, it reached the top spot on the US album chart—the band's 4th consecutive album to do so—and peaked at number 2 on the UK album chart. As a reaction to critics who believed Wings was merely a vehicle for Paul McCartney, the album featured every member of the band taking lead vocals on at least one song, and two songs from the album are written or co-written by band members other than the McCartneys. It has been certified Platinum in the US. The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. London Town is the 6th studio album by the British–American rock group Wings. It was released in March 1978, 2 years after its predecessor, Wings at the Speed of Sound. The album had a long and tumultuous gestation during which the band's tour plans for 1977 were cancelled, due to Linda McCartney becoming pregnant with her and Paul McCartney's 4th child and 2 members of Wings having departed, leaving the band as a trio comprising Paul, Linda and Denny Laine. Recording sessions were held intermittently over a period of a year, mainly at Abbey Road Studios in London and aboard a luxury yacht in the Virgin Islands. London Town charted in the top 5 positions in the UK and the US. It has been sertified Platinum in the US. The lead single, "With a Little Luck", was a number 1 hit in the US. Wings ) Back to the Egg ) 1979
The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. Back to the Egg is the 7th and final studio album by the British–American rock band Wings, released in June 1979. Co-produced by Chris Thomas, the album reflects band leader Paul McCartney's embracing of contemporary musical trends such as new wave and punk, and marked the arrival of new Wings members Laurence Juber and Steve Holley. The recording sessions took place at Spirit of Ranachan Studios in Campbeltown, Scotland; Lympne Castle in Kent, London's Abbey Road Studios, and Replica Studio – the last of which McCartney built as an exact replica of Abbey Road's Studio Two when the latter became unavailable. Wings returned to Abbey Road in March 1979 to complete the album, before filming a series of promotional videos in Lympne and elsewhere, for what became the Back to the Egg TV special. Although the album charted in the top 10 around the world and was certified platinum in the United States, it was viewed as a commercial failure relative to previous Wings releases. The group disbanded early the following year after the departure of Laine. Wings: Paul McCartney – lead and backing vocals, bass, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, concertina, piano and harpsichord Linda McCartney – keyboards, backing vocals Denny Laine – lead vocal on "Again and Again and Again", electric and acoustic guitars, backing vocals Laurence Juber – electric and acoustic guitars, guitar synthesizer, bass Steve Holley – drums, percussion 🔘 Sunny Side Up: Reception Getting Closer We're Open Tonight Spin It On Again and Again and Again Old Siam, Sir Arrow Through Me 🔘 Over Easy: Rockestra Theme To You After the Ball / Million Miles Winter Rose / Love Awake The Broadcast So Glad to See You Here Baby's Request390 views -
Paul McCartney ) McCartney II ) 1980
The Fabulous Vinyl LifeYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. McCartney II is the 2nd solo studio album by the English musician Paul McCartney, released on 16 May 1980. It was recorded by McCartney at his home studio in the summer of 1979, shortly before the dissolution of his band Wings in 1981. Like his debut solo studio album, McCartney (1970), he performed all the instruments himself. It yielded three singles: "Coming Up", "Waterfalls", and "Temporary Secretary". The album was a significant departure for McCartney, as much of it relies heavily on synthesizers and studio experimentation, while its music style embraces new wave and elements of electronica. It was initially released to largely unfavorable reviews by critics, though retrospective reception has been more positive and the album has become a cult favorite. In 2020, the album was succeeded by McCartney III. 🔘 Side one: Coming Up Temporary Secretary On the Way Waterfalls Nobody Knows 🔘 Side two: Front Parlour Summer's Day Song Frozen Jap Bogey Music Darkroom One of These Days192 views
