Wild New Zealand Camping Adventure
LifestyleandtechNZAn amazing 2 days going bush in the beautiful Kaimai Mamaku Range, camping out in my bivy bag and experiencing New Zealand nature at it's wild best. From carrying a 30+ kilogram backpack 953 mts to the summit of Mount Te Aroha, to exploring the old Piako County Tramway relics from the gold mining era of days gone by. From crystal clear fresh water springs and streams and waterfalls to the tramping tracks a billy goat would have trouble traversing! Come along with me and share the stunning scenery and dive into a little bit of our Indigenous culture and pioneering past. This is the first of my extended adventures...so hang on- here we go! Thanks for watching... Rick For more information on the Kaimai Mamaku area and Forest parks go to: https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-rec... For information and details for Hiking Biking Shuttles owned and run by Sue and Pete, with Ian and Hilton go to: https://bikinghikingshuttles.co.nz/ I can recommend their friendly service, from transporting you about to fully organised tours. Mamaku...The land that time forgot
LifestyleandtechNZHi everyone, in this video I wild camp in the "Mamaku" wilderness-a breathtaking and spectacular part of the Kaimai-Mamaku Range, approx 90 minutes south of Auckland, New Zealand. This is the land that time has forgotten about...and nature has reclaimed, including the rich history of goldmining from over 100 years ago, not to mention the huge significance this land has for Maori-our indigenous people and first inhabitants of this wild and untamed land. A multi day camp and cook through rain, wind and sunshine, follow me as i bivy camp, fish for trout and battle the land, the forest and the elements in the spectacular Waitawheta gorge and valley. An amazing wild camp...I hope you enjoy the video...I certainly enjoyed making it. Thanks for watching, and like and subscribe if you enjoy it...it really helps. Also, a big thanks to Seugnet at "The Log Cabin" for helping me with a couple of logistical challenges. The "Log Cabin" is a wonderful 2-storey, purpose built log cabin, sitting on 12 acres of land right next to the Waitawheta river and adjacent to the Waitawheta Track entrance. Available for hire for your family or group getaway, with accomodation for up to 10 guests at time of writing.
