In fact, over 30,000 hydromorphone pills were seized in 2023, with most being diverted from so-called “safe supply” programs. He later went on to say that Canadians “are being targeted by criminals who exchange these prescriptions for fentanyl, exacerbating addiction and community harm.” On top of this, the police chief alsoconfirmedthat women are being exploited as a direct result of the Trudeau’s taxpayer-funded hard drug program, with vulnerable women being pimped out and trafficked for their government supplied opioids. Data released by London Police Service earlier this year revealed that seizures of drugs from Trudeau's taxpayer-funded drug program has increased, while pharmacy robberies have decreased. This increased from 25 percent of the 5,000 hydromorphone tablets seized in 2021, to 50% of the 30,000 tablets seized in 2023. In spite of this clear evidence of failure, Trudeau has refused to rule out bringing hard drug legalization to Ontario and other parts of Canada, something the chiefsaidhe is not in support of.
