A week ago today I played Shadow Dancer with friends IRL. We got to the last boss but didn't beat it. I am not able to hang out with them this week, but I'll be with them "in spirit" by attempting to beat Shadow Dancer on my own. I owned and played this game decades ago and had it basically mastered then. All that muscle memory is gone, so today is just an old dude playing an old game... again. Though the Steam format of this game might allow save states, I'll try to beat it fairly without that advantage. If it takes several live streams and many hours, I might get frustrated and use a save state eventually.

Part 3 in my playthrough of Kid Chameleon for the Sega Genesis, played on PS3 via Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. I'll not try to do all the achievements or find all the secret levels. My goal will be to get to the end of the game if possible. I'm not opposed to using save and load game because I already played this many years ago. While it's not a first playthrough, it's been so long that I don't remember much about it. I was surprised to read that it has over 100 levels!

Every time I hear about Kid Chameleon I say, "I want to play that again sometime soon." Soon is now. I played the game on Sega Genesis back when I was a kid. My memory of it is that it was a fun and unique game. Recent investigation reveals it has over 100 levels! That is not something I remember about it. Normally I am a completionish with games, but since this one is ridiculously huge, I'll take it as it comes. If it seems reasonable to beat it, I'll keep going. I'll not try for anything crazy like no deaths, no damage or finding 100% of all the levels or items. This will be a casual playthough. Since I'm playing it on the PS3 via Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, I'll take advantage of the ability to save as I go along. If I die, I might reload to give myself a fighting chance to get through. Hopefully I don't end up hating this game. I'll keep a positive attitude about it, relying on my past self's overal memory and impression.

As a kid I was pretty good at Sonic 1 & 2. Decades later, I suck. After recently beating Sonic 1 on stream, Sonic 2 seems like the next logical step. I spent way too much time modifying my gaming scenes! Otherwise I might have started earlier.

As I mentioned in my book sanding stream earlier today, I'll start a game from the Sega Master System (Genesis) Classics that I have on Steam. I'm leaning toward playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2, but I haven't fully decided yet. It needs to be a game I can complete in the next few days, before the weekend. Starting at 99.5% completion tonight, I'll probably attempt to beat Dracula. There is one more item I might farm for before that. I first played Castlevania Order of Ecclesia long ago, and my old brain won't remember all the details and secrets. Metroidvanias are my favorite type of game, and I'm a completionist, so it will take many hours and livestreams to get all the way through. No speedrunning here. Even though I'm starting with 96.9% completion tonight, something tells me I won't finish the game. I still want to go around hunting enemy item drops and possibly a few other tasks before beating the game. The Training Hall also needs to be played.
