Interview with RT yesterday on the ongoing HTS (al-Qaeda in Syria) slaughter of Syrian civilians, primarily Alawites, possibly exceeding 10,000 civilians killed in less than 1 week. Civilians are being slaughtered at rapid rate by point blank executions, stabbings, slitting throats... If the number 10,000 civilians killed in one week is accurate, that's the equivalent number of Damascus civilians killed by terrorists in 7 years. Al-Julani announced the end to the so-called 'military operation' (his HTS ethnic cleansing massacre) yes, but began the massacres elsewhere. The killing has continued, every day throughout the day there are reports of new massacres. On March 10 it was reported that coinciding with the UN's visit to coastal areas, HTS terrorists took children hostage, sending a message to the parents that if they say anything, or don't say what (the terrorists) want them to say, they will burn the children. People are literally trapped in their homes without food, no way to escape, literally awaiting death squads to break into their homes and gun them down, as has been the case all along the coast and into Hama, also in Aleppo, Damascus and elsewhere. Some days ago, a Christian family was massacred, the parents & their children. They were preceded & followed by many more massacres of Christians. The fact that these barbaric massacres are continuing unabated, not stopped by international institutions and Western states highlights their hypocrisy: They were the first to call for intervention for far far lesser accusations of wrongdoing by the Syria, or Russian, army. These accusations-- starving the people, chemical attacks--were false. It was in every case terrorists who starved civilians and hoarded food aid. But even these comparably far minor crimes, blamed on the Syrian government, were enough for international outrage & calls for intervention. But amply and continually documented mass slaughter of civilians, of children, that isn't enough? Syrian lives, whether Alawite, Shia, Christian, Sunni or other are no less precious than our lives. If this was happening in a Western nation, people would be horrified. So, be horrified for Syrians and speak out. **BTW: I had a lot to say, sometimes things come out wrong ("fighting") on the spot. March 27, 2024 "In a conversation with Eva Bartlett, Brian Gerrish (UK Column) learns what takes a young woman from Canada to travel to explore the world. Bartlett (2007) paid for herself to go to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (2008-2013) to understand what was really happening. On September 6, 2018, the day of the opening of the 60th Damascus International Fair, I spoke to Aleppo MP Fares Shehabi. Those in eastern Ghouta, the so-called 'rebels', al-Qaeda gangs, they targeted the entry of this fair and killed some people, visitors and participants. One lady from old Damascus, was killed, she was participating in this fair—she had a clothing garment factory—and she was killed at the door, along with three or four people. Thank God the Syrian army liberated eastern Ghouta and we don't have any more terrorists there, and everybody's free now, and safe—that's most important.” "We expect high participation from many countries and local firms. It's about a political statement, an economic statement, that we won this war and we will win also the reconstruction war, and this is just one proof of it." This year, with eastern Ghouta and areas around Damascus liberated of terrorists, the fair can proceed in peace. Eid al Celib, Maaloula. When terrorists occupied Maaloula, this ancient tradition was not held, the only time in it's nearly 1700 year history, Maaloula resident Abdo Haddad told me last year when the festival resumed. This year, I attended, going to one of the masses and seeing the impressive fires and other lights on top of the mountain overlooking the peaceful, but terror-ravaged, village.
