The BEST of Classical Music: Vivaldi, Verdi, Scarlatti, Rossini and Clementi
Purrfect MusicDid You Know..? Italian Classical Romantic music brought to the world some passionate and memorable operas. Antonio Vivaldi, an Italian Baroque composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher and cleric. He is recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread across Europe. Giuseppe Verdi was best known for his emotional operas keeping the audience engaged throughout. Influenced by Gioachino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti, and Vincenzo Bellini, he dominated the Italian opera scene. Domenico Scarlatti is well-known for his operas, oratorios, and sacred music. However, his 555 short sonatas for harpsichord is what he is most remembered for. Gioachino Rossini considered a traditionalist in Classical music, writing a variety of operas, and although still very popular at the time, he stopped writing operas as the new era of music took centre-stage. Muzio Clementi's long series of piano sonatas was his claim to fame, and his celebrated studies for piano are still what most remember him for. I hope you enjoy my pick of The Best of Classical Music - Vivaldi, Verdi, Scarlatti, Rossini and Clementi.
