PART THREE starts in the Year of the Lord 1623 was to be the SECOND Thanksgiving. Creating God's Commonwealth and the Law became front and Center over the next many years in creating COMMERCE. In 1636 the Primary issues were Social Order and the Pilgrims having learned from the Puritans before them to became more tolerant of people. After PENANCE to the Word of God and that had done Service with the elders approval they were brought back in. The Puritans, including the first colonists of the United States, used the Geneva Bible: Origin The Geneva Bible was translated by English Protestants who fled to Geneva, Switzerland to escape the Catholic Queen Mary. Features The Geneva Bible was the first English Bible to include chapter and verse numbers, use Roman typeface, and include extensive commentary notes in the margins. Popularity The Geneva Bible was the most popular Bible for personal use until the King James Bible was published in 1611. The Geneva Bible remained popular until after the English Civil War, with the last edition printed in 1644. In America The Pilgrims brought the Geneva Bible with them to America in 1620. However, the King James Bible became more common in the New World as more settlers arrived in the mid-1600s.

PART TWO discusses the meeting of the Native Americans (in those days call INDIANS) that lived in Virginia Colony the area that Bradford landed and set up the first Colony at PLYMOUTH. The encounter was very interesting by today's standards and actually resulted in the Survival of those early Immigrants to the New World. The Feast itself is discussed after the hardship of winter.. where FAITH was the nourishment and hardship was considered "the WILL OF GOD". This Presentation shows the FAITH and Perseverance of the Pilgrims and the way they managed and expanded on their BELIEF in Gods Guidance. Michael starts at the beginning, in Scrooby, England, and takes the tale all the way to 1690 (or thereabouts) when the Plymouth Colony was absorbed into the Mass. Bay Colony. He explains the difference between Pilgrims and Puritans. He also quotes periodically from sources (and mentions books to read for further information). "The First Thanksgiving" is really told like a great story, not a dry lecture. Even my 4-year-old was listening! (A word of caution for parents--there is a brief mention of bestiality. It was a crime and the person was executed. My little one didn't pick up on it, but I personally wouldn't want to explain that to a young child.)
