Kibbe on Liberty is a weekly podcast with libertarian author, economist, and community organizer Matt Kibbe. As the president of Free the People, Kibbe has decades of experience in the libertarian political sphere, but in these troubled times he believes that open dialogue is needed to bring people together. This means being willing to talk, and especially listen, to those with whom we might not always agree, trying to understand perspectives that might otherwise be foreign to us.
Kibbe on Liberty's growing roster of guests includes politicians, economists, comedians, writers, radio personalities, activists, journalists, and even a magician or two—with topics of conversation ranging from current affairs to craft beer and the Grateful Dead. So grab a cold one, and settle in for the next hour of Kibbe on Liberty, mostly honest conversations with mostly interesting people.

Everyone is Welcome Official Trailer. (Premiere date: October 27 at 7PM EST)
In January 2022, in a deeply misguided attempt to combat the COVID-19 virus, Washington, DC mayor Muriel Bowser, along with her counterparts in most other major cities, required business owners to deny access to any customers not proven to be vaccinated against the disease. Eric Flannery, an affable, apolitical veteran who wanted nothing more than to serve good food and drink to his local community via his bar and restaurant, The Big Board, located on H Street in northeast DC. When he was told that he
would have to check vaccination records before admitting his loyal
customers to his bar, he decided to take a stand.
Everyone is Welcome is a documentary that tells the story of Eric and his fight against the DC governments attempt to shut him down.
You can track his case on The Buckeye Institute website:

Conspiracy Theories That Are Actually True | Guest: Connor Boyack | Ep 249
The term “conspiracy theory” has long been used to dismiss ideas as the unhinged ravings of paranoid lunatics. But it’s naïve to assume that people never conspire and that there are no plots going on behind the scenes. As we learn more about the inner workings of government, it’s increasingly clear that not all conspiracy theories are crazy and some are actually true. Matt Kibbe is joined by Connor Boyack, author of “The Tuttle Twins Guide to True Conspiracies,” to discuss some of the documented historical examples of the U.S. government’s sinister machinations, diabolical experiments, and human rights abuses, from Project Mockingbird to MK Ultra.

Free the People’s mission is simple—to make the values of liberty entertaining, accessible, and human. Free the People deliberately explores issues that bridge the partisan divide—topics like criminal justice reform, health care choice, and opposing corporate cronyism. We produce documentary films, video web series, and podcasts that illuminate the people and ideas changing the world for the better. We reach audiences across the political spectrum as a rational but passionate voice for liberty.
Free the People specializes in video production, creative storytelling, and social media engagement. We are building a community of people who believe in the values of freedom, entrepreneurship, individual responsibility, choice, and peaceful cooperation. Free the People finds and tells stories of people affecting positive change in their community through entrepreneurship and innovation. We defend free choice in everything from drug policy, to health care and retirement, to every aspect of the sharing economy. Our values, like "equal treatment under the law" and "innocent until proven guilty," animate fights for criminal justice reform. We tell the stories of people who have lived through the hardships of authoritarianism and collectivism throughout history. We show our viewers that beautiful things can happen when free people come together to make the world a better place.

Civil Liberties Are Non-Negotiable
Researcher and entrepreneur Mark Changizi explains that civil liberties are not something you can place into a utilitarian calculation, balancing them with other interests. Instead, all other interests rest on a foundation of civil liberties, and once that starts collapsing everything else tends to follow. This is why it’s crucial not to surrender your freedoms in a emergency.

Villains Believe Their Own Hype
Researcher and entrepreneur Mark Changizi talks about how the worst societal evils are usually perpetrated by people who think they are doing good. In the case of COVID lockdowns, the worst civil liberties abuses didn’t come from some demonic supervillain, but from the average person on the street operating under widespread societal pressure.

Totalitarianism Is Decentralized Authoritarianism
Researcher and entrepreneur Mark Changizi explains that while authoritarianism imposes the will of a lone tyrant on the population, totalitarianism is far worse because it’s enforced at every level of society, from your friends and neighbors to your coworkers and even your own family.

COVID Exposed Our Collective Hysteria | Guest: Mark Changizi | Ep 247
The public response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing government lockdowns was a shocking wake-up call to many of us about the nature of our fellow human beings. The acceptance and even embrace of totalitarian policies took us by surprise, but it’s not that hard to understand through the lens of collective hysteria. Matt Kibbe is joined by researcher and entrepreneur Mark Changizi to analyze the ways in which crowds can be dumber than individuals and how groupthink can lead to horrific outcomes.
