Streets of Laredo" (Laws B01, Roud 23650),[1] also known as the "Cowboy's Lament", is a famous American cowboy ballad in which a dying cowboy tells his story to another cowboy. Members of the Western Writers of America chose it as one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time.[2]
Derived from the traditional folk song "The Unfortunate Rake", the song has become a folk music standard, and as such has been performed, recorded and adapted numerous times, with many variations. The title refers to the city of Laredo, Texas.
The old-time cowboy Frank H. Maynard (1853–1926) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, claimed authorship of the revised Cowboy's Lament, and his story was widely reported in 1924 by the journalism professor Elmo Scott Watson, then on the faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Lyrics
As I walked out in the streets of Laredo
As I walked out in Laredo one day,
I spied a poor cowboy, all wrapped in white linen
All wrapped in white linen and cold as the clay.
"I see by your outfit, that you are a cowboy.
"These words he did say as I slowly passed by.
"Come sit down beside me and hear my sad story,
For I'm shot in the chest, and today I must die."
"'Oh once in the saddle I used to go dashing,
'Oh once in the saddle I used to go gay.
First down to Rosie's, and then to the card-house,
Got shot through the body, and now here I lay."
"Oh, beat the drum slowly and play the fife lowly,
And play the dead march as you carry me along;
Take me to the green valley, there lay the sod o'er me,
For I'm a young cowboy and I know I've done wrong."
"Get six jolly cowboys to carry my coffin,
Get six pretty maidens to bear up my pall.
Put bunches of roses all over my coffin,
Roses to deaden the clods as they fall."
"Then swing your rope slowly and rattle your spurs lowly,
And give a wild whoop as you carry me along;
And in the grave throw me and roll the sod o'er me.
For I'm a young cowboy and I know I've done wrong."
"Go bring me a cup, a cup of cold water.
To cool my parched lips", the cowboy then said.
Before I returned, his spirit had departed,
And gone to the round up – the cowboy was dead.
We beat the drum slowly and played the fife lowly,
And bitterly wept as we bore him along.
For we loved our comrade, so brave, young and handsome,
We all loved our comrade, although he'd done wrong.

"How Great Thou Art" is a Christian hymn based on a Swedish traditional melody and a poem written by Carl Boberg (1859–1940) in Mönsterås, Sweden, in 1885. It was translated into German and then into Russian; it was translated into English from the Russian by English missionary Stuart K. Hine, who also added two original verses of his own. The hymn was popularised by George Beverly Shea and Cliff Barrows during the Billy Graham crusades.[1] It was voted the British public's favourite hymn by BBC's Songs of Praise.[2] "How Great Thou Art" was ranked second (after "Amazing Grace") on a list of the favourite hymns of all time in a survey by Christianity Today magazine in 2001. Most common English Lyrics:
Verse1
O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hand hath made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Verse 2
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:
Verse 3
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
Verse 4
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

"Silent Night" (German: "Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht") is a popular Christmas carol, composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr in the small town of Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria.[1] It was declared an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2011.[2] The song has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935 has sold 10 million copies as a single.[3]
Lyrics (English version)
Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child!
Holy infant, so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace!
Sleep in heavenly peace!
Silent night! Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born!
Silent night! Holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth!
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth!
Lyrics (German version)
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht,
Alles schläft; einsam wacht
Nur das traute hochheilige Paar.
Holder Knabe im lockigen Haar,
Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh!
Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh!
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht,
Hirten erst kundgemacht
Durch der Engel Halleluja,
Tönt es laut von fern und nah:
Christ, der Retter ist da!
Christ, der Retter ist da!
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht,
Gottes Sohn, o wie lacht
Lieb' aus deinem göttlichen Mund,
Da uns schlägt die rettende Stund'.
Christ, in deiner Geburt!

Common lyrics
She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes
She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes
Coming round the mountain, she'll be coming round the mountain
Coming round the mountain when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses, she'll be driving six white horses
Driving six white horses when she comes
And we'll all go out to meet her when she comes
Yes we'll all go out to meet her when she comes
We'll all go out to greet her, yes we will all go out to meet her
We'll all go out to meet her when she comes
She'll be wearing red pajamas when she comes
She'll be wearing red pajamas when she comes
Wearing red pajamas, why is she wearing red pajamas?
Don't know why but she'll be wearing red pajamas when she comes
She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes
She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes
Coming round the mountain, she'll be coming round the mountain
Coming round the mountain when she comes
Coming round the mountain when she comes

"Be Thou My Vision" (Old Irish: Rop tú mo baile or Rob tú mo bhoile) is a traditional Christian hymn of Irish origin. The words are based on a Middle Irish poem that has traditionally been attributed to Dallán Forgaill.[1]
The best-known English version, with some minor variations, was translated in 1905 by Mary Elizabeth Byrne in 1905, then made into verse by Eleanor Hull and published in 1912. Since 1919 it has been commonly sung to an Irish folk tune, noted as "Slane" in church hymnals,[1][2] and is one of the most popular hymns in the United Kingdom.
English Lyrics by Eleanor Hull
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;Be all else but naught to me, save that Thou art;Be Thou my best thought in the day and the night,Both waking and sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;Be Thou ever with me, and I with Thee, Lord;Be Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son;Be Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Be Thou my Breastplate, my Sword for the fight;Be Thou my whole Armor, be Thou my true Might;Be Thou my soul's Shelter, be Thou my strong Tow’r,O raise Thou me heav’nward, great Pow’r of my pow’r.
Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise;Be Thou mine inheritance, now and always;Be Thou and Thou only the first in my heart,O high King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
High King of heaven, Thou heaven's bright Sun,O grant me its joys, after vict'ry is won;Great Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,Still be Thou my vision, O Ruler of all.
Although there are quite a few variations, not the least of which being the original Old Irish version.

Mary Had a Little Lamb" is an English language nursery rhyme of nineteenth-century American origin. It has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 7622.
The nursery rhyme was first published by the Boston publishing firm Marsh, Capen & Lyon, as a poem by Sarah Josepha Hale on May 24, 1830, and was possibly inspired by an actual incident.[1] As described in one of Hale's biographies:
"Sarah began teaching young boys and girls in a small school not far from her home [in Newport, New Hampshire]...It was at this small school that the incident involving 'Mary's Lamb' is reputed to have taken place. Sarah was surprised one morning to see one of her students, a girl named Mary, enter the classroom followed by her pet lamb. The visitor was far too distracting to be permitted to remain in the building and so Sarah 'turned him out.' The lamb stayed nearby till school was dismissed and then ran up to Mary looking for attention and protection. The other youngsters wanted to know why the lamb loved Mary so much and their teacher explained it was because Mary loved her pet. Then Sarah used the incident to get a moral across to the class:

This tutorial is for a Diatonic Harmonica
"Auld Lang Syne" (Scots pronunciation: [ˈɔːl(d) lɑŋˈsəin]: note "s" rather than "z")[1] is a popular song, particularly in the English-speaking world. Traditionally it is sung to bid farewell to the old year at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. By extension, it is also often heard at funerals, graduations, and as a farewell or ending to other occasions; for instance many branches of the Scouting movement use it to close jamborees and other functions.[2]
The text is a Scots-language poem written by Robert Burns in 1788[3][4] but based on an older Scottish folk song. In 1799, it was set to a traditional tune, which has since become standard. "Auld Lang Syne" is listed as numbers 6294 and 13892 in the Roud Folk Song Index.
The poem's Scots title may be translated into standard English as "old long since" or, less literally, "long long ago",[5] "days gone by", or "old times". Consequently, "For auld lang syne", as it appears in the first line of the chorus, might be loosely translated as "for the sake of old times".
The phrase "Auld Lang Syne" is also used in similar poems by Robert Ayton (1570–1638), Allan Ramsay (1686–1757), and James Watson (1711), as well as older folk songs predating Burns.[6] Matthew Fitt uses the phrase "in the days of auld lang syne" as the equivalent of "once upon a time" in his retelling of fairy tales in the Scots language.

Amazing Grace" is a Christian hymn published in 1779, with words written in 1772 by the English poet and Anglican clergyman John Newton (1725–1807). It is an immensely popular hymn, particularly in the United States, where it is used for both religious and secular purposes.
Newton wrote the words from personal experience. He grew up without any particular religious conviction, but his life's path was formed by a variety of twists and coincidences that were often put into motion by others' reactions to what they took as his recalcitrant insubordination.
He was pressed (conscripted) into service in the Royal Navy. After leaving the service, he became involved in the Atlantic slave trade. In 1748, a violent storm battered his vessel off the coast of County Donegal, Ireland, so severely that he called out to God for mercy. This moment marked his spiritual conversion but he continued slave trading until 1754 or 1755, when he ended his seafaring altogether. He began studying Christian theology and later became an abolitionist.
Lyrics
Amazing grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come,
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.

The "Battle Hymn of the Republic", also known as "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory" outside of the United States, is a popular American patriotic song by the abolitionist writer Julia Ward Howe.
Howe wrote her lyrics to the music of the song "John Brown's Body" in November 1861 and first published them in The Atlantic Monthly in February 1862. The song links the judgment of the wicked at the end of the age (through allusions to biblical passages such as Isaiah 63:1–6 and Revelation 14:19) with the American Civil War.
Lyrics:
Verse One
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Chorus
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
Verse Two
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps;
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps,
His day is marching on.
Verse Three
I have read His fiery gospel writ in rows of burnished steel!
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you My grace shall deal!
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,"
Since God is marching on.
Verse Four
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him; be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
Verse Five
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free!
While God is marching on.

"Abide with Me" is a Christian hymn by Scottish Anglican Henry Francis Lyte. It is most often sung to the tune "Eventide" by William Henry Monk.
The author of the hymn, Henry Francis Lyte, was an Anglican minister. He was a curate in County Wexford from 1815 to 1818. According to a plaque erected in his memory in Taghmon Church, he preached frequently in Killurin Church, about nine miles from there. During that time the rector of Killurin Parish, the Reverend Abraham Swanne, was a lasting influence on Lyte's life and ministry. Later he was vicar of All Saints' Church in Brixham, Devon, England.
The hymn is a prayer for God to remain present with the speaker throughout life, through trials, and through death. The opening line alludes to Luke 24:29, "Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent", and the penultimate verse draws on text from 1 Corinthians 15:55, "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?":
Lyrics:
Verse 1
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.When other helpers fail and comforts flee,Help of the helpless, O abide with me.Verse 2Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;Change and decay in all around I see;O Thou who changest not, abide with me.Verse 3Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word,But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord,Familiar, condescending, patient, free.Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.Verse 4Come not in terror, as the King of kings,But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings;Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea.Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.Verse 5Thou on my head in early youth didst smile,And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee.On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.Verse 6I need Thy presence every passing hour.What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.Verse 7I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.Verse 8Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.[2]

And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:
Verse 3
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
Verse 4
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

"Ar Hyd y Nos" (English: All Through the Night) is a Welsh song sung to a tune that was first recorded in Edward Jones' Musical and Poetical Relics of the Welsh Bards (1784). The most commonly sung Welsh lyrics were written by John Ceiriog Hughes (1832-1887), and have been translated into several languages, including English (most famously by Harold Boulton (1859–1935)[1]) and Breton. One of the earliest English versions, to different Welsh lyrics by one John Jones, was by Thomas Oliphant in 1862.[2]
The melody is also used in the hymn "Go My Children With My Blessing."
The song is highly popular with traditional Welsh male voice choirs, and is sung by them at festivals in Wales and around the world.[3]
The song is also sometimes considered a Christmas carol, and as such has been performed by many artists on Christmas albums, including Olivia Newton-John and Michael McDonald, who sang it as a duet on Newton-John's 2007 album Christmas Wish. Cerys Matthews sang it solo on her 2010 album
One version offers these lyrics:
Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping
Hill and vale in slumber steeping,
I my loving vigil keeping
All through the night.
While the moon her watch is keeping
All through the night
While the weary world is sleeping
All through the night
O'er thy spirit gently stealing
Visions of delight revealing
Breathes a pure and holy feeling
All through the night.
Although there are several other versions which also include the original Welsh version.

"Happy Birthday to You", also known as "Happy Birthday", is a song traditionally sung to celebrate a person's birthday. According to the 1998 Guinness World Records, it is the most recognized song in the English language, followed by "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow". The song's base lyrics have been translated into at least 18 languages.[1] The melody of "Happy Birthday to You" comes from the song "Good Morning to All",[2] which has traditionally been attributed to American sisters Patty and Mildred J. Hill in 1893,[3][4] although the claim that the sisters composed the tune is disputed.[5]
The song is in the public domain in the United States and the European Union. Warner Chappell Music had previously claimed copyright on the song in the US and collected licensing fees for its use; in 2015 the copyright claim was declared invalid and Warner Chappell agreed to pay back $14 million in licensing fees. This praise song about the action of the Holy Spirit is sometimes attributed to L(Louis?) Casebolt, but no further information about them has been located.
Hymn-books which it has been published in include:
Songs of Praise, Scripture in Song, New Zealand, 1973
Scripture in Song, Songs of Praise, Volume 1, New Zealand, 1979
These both state that the author is unknown, and that the arrangement (not the underlying tune / words) is copyright Scripture in Song USA, 1972.
The song, credited to Betty Pulkingham and L Casebolt was recorded on the Songs of Praise, Album 3 released under the Word of God label in 1977 (ref). It was also included in the 1978 album Rejoice with the Fisherfolk - and the sleeve material of this recording credits verse 1 to L Casebolt, and verses 2-6 to Betty Pulkingham (ref).
It is not clear when, or by who, the chorus and actions were added. There are at least two variations of these which have been recorded.
The song has been translated to various languages, including Tongan (ref), and one recording on YouTube shows an adapted version being sung at at 21st century vacation bible school.
Details thanks to https://www.godsongs.net/2021/05/theres-river-of-life-flowing-out-of-me-spring-up-o-well.html
The Lyrics:
There's a river of life flowing out of me,
Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see.
Open prison door sets the captive free,
There's a river of life flowing out of me.
Spring up oh well..
Within my soul!
Spring up oh well...!
And make me whole.
Spring up oh well....
And give to me.
That life abundantly.
There's a fountain flowing from the Savior's side,
All my sin's forgiven in the precious tide;
Jesus paid the price when for me He died,
There's a fountain flowing from the Savior's side.
There's a risen Savior at the Father's throne,
Ever interceding for His very own;
Pouring down the blessings that are His alone,
There's a risen Savior at the Father's throne.

UPDATE!! I haven't been able to share this on the subreddit as Reddit thinks my account is a spam account :( If some kind person out there could share it that would be much appreciated! This video is not monetised out of respect to Felix.
Ok, confession time, I'm a pretty big #Pewdiepie fan so thought I'd make this as a sign of my appreciation for his hard work over the years.
Having said that though, this is a legit #tutorial!
Now I'm not a hundred percent sure where the music for this theme comes from, I seem to recall that #Jacksfilms did YIAY first before #Felix did #LWIAY so hopefully they will both forgive my ignorance.
Special thanks to Pewdiepie in advance, sorry for not getting your permission to do this but you're a hard man to get a hold of! https://www.youtube.com/user/PewDiePie
I will be making more #tutorials for this soon for #tremolo #chromatic and #TinWhistle so stay tuned!
Tune Basics is the popular music #education series created by #NewZealand based #musician/content creator Kerin Gedge. It is designed to teach anybody who wants to learn the fundamentals or very basics of how to play #MusicalInstruments which includes #DiatonicHarmonica, #TremoloHarmonica with 24 holes, Tremolo #Harmonica with 16 holes, Tremolo Harmonica with 20 holes, #ChromaticHarmonica, kalimba with ten keys, recorder and #PennyWhistle (also known as #TinWhistle).
The aim of Tune Basics is to acquaint the student with clear graphic based #instructions for how to play simple and recognisable songs. Tune Basics will typically avoid delving too deeply into technique or musical styles but will, where possible, provide the pupil with relevant links to professional musicians who can take the learner deeper when they are ready to move on from basic #lessons.
Generally speaking Tune Basics will focus more on popular songs that are in the #PublicDomain. This is to protect the channel, Kerin Gedge, from any complications that may arise due to copyright claims. But it also aids the musical student with the belief that most popular public domain songs are already deeply embedded in the player’s subconscious, which lends itself to the learning experience. For example tunes like #TwinkleTwinkleLittleStar, #HappyBirthday or even #ChristmasSongs like #SilentNight or #JingleBells are so entrenched in modern western minds that learning the songs is “easy” because you’re already half way there!
Although on occasion #KerinGedge will provide a lesson on a modern popular song without monetising the video. Examples include #TheCoffinDanceMeme which became very popular during 2020, #BillyJoel’s #PianoMan or #Snufkin the harmonica playing wanderer from the #Moomin series.
#TuneBasics also provides #HarmonicaTabs #TinWhistleTabs /#PennyWhistleTabs and #KalimbaTabs on the Tune Basics blog, link provided above. Please be sure to browse our #TABS list as often we will provide TABS that are yet to be animated into #Tutorials. In other words you may find TABS for songs that aren’t available on the channel.
TuneBasics believes that ANYONE can learn to play. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what your musical background is. If you can follow the simple instructions provided in these videos then you’re well on your way to becoming a musician. But don’t expect to “get it” right away. Practice will always make perfect. This tutorial is for a Tremolo Harmonica with 20 holes.

Yankee Doodle" is a well-known American song and a nursery rhyme, the early versions of which predate the Seven Years' War and American Revolution.[1] It is often sung patriotically in the United States today and is the state anthem of Connecticut.[2] Its Roud Folk Song Index number is 4501. The melody is thought to be much older than both the lyrics and the subject, going back to folk songs of Medieval Europe - learn more here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yankee_Doodle
