Socialism
While there are shortcoming associated with late-stage capitalism, socialism is not the answer. It is even more wasteful of resources.

Equality
Selwyn Duke has an interesting article on the New American's Website entitled 'Saving Civilization Means Killing Equality'. We examine how the end-goal of a republic is virtue, whereas the end-goal of a democracy is equality . . . and what that difference means for society.

The Sin of Gluttony and Our Economic System
Capitalism has many good things to its credit. One of the liabilities, however, is that it encourages over-consumption. Gluttony. In a sense, 'economic bulimia'. Consuming for consumption's sake. While many people in the Sustainability sector worry about how this harms the environment, another question is: How this harms the soul. The descent from spiritual values to coarse materialism is examined, and how our economic system encourages vice.

A System Groomed for Corruption
In ancient times, law was associated with religion. The law-giver was someone who said (like Hammurabi in Babylonia or Moses on Sinai) that God handed him the law. In ancient India, the Brahmin priest class derived the law from their scriptures, the Vedas. They studied the laws of the universe and tried to apply those same rules to the secular realm. So law was a way of bringing Heaven down to Earth. What happens when a society abandons this concept and substitutes in its place radical secularism? What happens to the ideals that underpin law? Does this groom society for corruption?

There Are No Rights Without Responsibilities
Hegel said, 'There are no responsibilities without rights, no rights without responsibilities.' In our society, we hear people talk about rights all the time, but never about the corresponding responsibilities. Why is that? If a tyrant wanted to take over and strip people of rights, what would be the best stealth way of doing it? By 'freeing' people of their responsibilities."

Ethics and Conservation
Money is not wealth. Money is a unit of exchange that can be traded in for wealth. Wealth is arable land, wealth is potable water, wealth is a bushel of wheat, etc. Societies go off-kilter when they begin to confuse currency for wealth. In reality, natural resources are wealth.

Euthanasia
The West has been worried about the retirement of the Baby Boomers. This will put tremendous pressure on an already-distressed economy. Are certain segments of the Power-Elite inclined to promote euthanasia as a remedy?

Up in the Air
The airlines industry is having historic staffing shortages after they changed the sector's medical protocols. Pilots have been dying mid-flight. Luckily, we have backup procedures with a pilot and a co-pilot. Unluckily, people inside the aviation industry are looking to double the number of flights they have by having a single pilot on each solo flight and no backup operators.

The Evolution of Economics
The field of economics used to define itself as a system that helped people earn their sustenance. It now ignores people altogether and defines itself as a system by which scarce resources are allocated in the most efficient means. What happens when a system that was once designed for people starts to see humanity as people designed for a system?

Springtime for Kanye
Kanye West's recent shenanigans are reminiscent of the 1967 movie "The Producers," in which a dishonest impresario wants to sabotage a production by staging a play called 'Springtime for Hitler'. Kanye West, likewise, wanted out of a deal with the powerful Mercer family to purchase the dying social media platform Parler. Are his antics less earnest than some of his fans believe? Stay tuned for more of Kanye's "Parler" tricks.

Freedom
In ancient Sumerian, the word for 'freedom' was made up of symbols that meant 'to be without debt'. Those who are in debt are not truly free. Their labor belongs to another--just like a slave. In the modern world, what happens when too much debt builds up? Is a debt-based system essentially a slave-based system?

Tech and Ethics
Edward O. Wilson said, "The problem with society is that we have paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology". One of the guardrails against us destroying ourselves is ethics. But what happens when we live in an age that venerates intelligence and not wisdom? An age where people in government are now openly talking about dispensing with moral standards?

Death by Derivatives
The entire financial economy may be being imperiled by an exotic form of financial instrument called a derivatives contract. There may be over two quadrillion dollars' worth of this debt, sucking cash out of the productive economy... which is crippling supply chains.

Senate As the Seat of Power
In all republics the senate is the highest seat of power. This was true of the Roman Republic as of the early United States, under the Articles of Confederation. Why, then, do most Americans assume that the President should hold the highest position in the Federal government? This happened because the states were eclipsed after the Civil War. With their exclusion from power, the focus was taken off of their branch of government. In any healthy United States, the senate would enjoy primacy. What happened?

McGeorge Bundy
Scion of a venerable Boston family going back to the Mayflower, McGeorge Bundy had access to all of the Eastern elite. He attended top prep schools, was inducted into Yale's Skull and Bones club, was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and eventually acceded to the position of National Security adviser to both Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. After leaving the White House, he was tapped to run the globalist Ford Foundation. Asked to help the oil cartels create a pretext to make petroleum scarce (thereby driving up its value), he wrote a groundbreaking energy policy study (called "A Time to Choose"). It laid out the strategy for the future Green movement and provided most of its vocabulary: from "sustainability" to "service-based economy" to "Post-Industrial society," most of the modern buzzwords derive from Bundy's book. As did the strategy of creating fake environmentalist movements to do the bidding of the oil companies.

Cultivate the Right Enemies
Jesus said, "If you're hated, know that I was hated before you were." The point is NOT to get through life without generating friction. Too many times, to attain peace conservatives are willing to sacrifice their principles and capitulate to the purveyors of unwholesome practices. In fact, you should embrace being hated. Your enemies will tell you things about yourself that no friend ever would--and help you inestimably in the process.

Weather Weapons
In the 1960s, President Lyndon Johnson publicly acknowledged work on 'weather weapons'. In light of famous programs to manipulate the ionosphere, like H.A.A.R.P., has it become possible after all these decades to disrupt weather over enemy territory (like Operation Popeye during the Vietnam War) or to 'steer hurricanes' in any direction they want them to go using magnetic pulses? Join us now to discuss the subject with Dennis Behreandt, publisher of the New American magazine, and author of the book 'End Game'.

Feelings Over Facts
In the UN's new document, entitled "Human Development Report 2022," they complain about how emotionalistic language is being used to discuss scientific issues. This is a reversal from trends starting in the mid-19th Century. The reality is that this coincides with the legalization of propaganda in 2012. Propaganda relies on irrational emotion and usually uses the vocabulary of overblown sentiment.

The Marginalized Majority
Globalist organizations say that censorship, oppression and the abrogation of rights is justified--upon the claim that it advances the plight of "historically marginalized groups". In reality, it's done to set the precedent that the majority must be disempowered, and the society rigged to cater to a minority . . . the only TRUE minority being billionaire-oligarchs. The only true "historically marginalized group" being the working class.

Slushfunds
The wealthy pool their money in order to pay for propaganda or to finance lobbying efforts to advance their group-interests. The poor also pool their money [in insurance or pension funds] but do not use their accumulated wealth to advance their group-interests. This presentation is an exploration of this disparity.

Parallels
In the lead-up to World War One, all war bonds, munitions deals and military spending flowed through one man: J.P. Morgan. This, at the time, was an unprecedented amount of power reposed in one individual. Today, the same thing is happening with the Federal Reserve outsourcing its duties to one man: Larry Fink, of BlackRock. This is just one parallel that's emerging. Another is the international money that flowed into the United States from Versailles war reparations, inflating the stock market--which later led to the collapse of 1929. A similar phenomenon is happening now, as instability in the Third World is seeing capital flight, whereby trillions are flowing into the United States real estate and stock market. As the United States vies with China for supremacy, are we seeing a replay of the early 20th Century, where England was struggling against its economic rival Germany . . . which culminated in war?

Bottom of the Pyramid
Maslow's hierarchy of needs represents a pyramid, at the bottom of which are animal notions of food, warmth, safety. In the middle of the taxonomy is honor. At the top of it is "self-actualization". The political left usually promises utopias, and fashions their appeals based on the top of the pyramid. Whereas the Republican Establishment is committed to remaining at the bottom of the pyramid. "Law and order," they shout. "Safety! Guns!" So long as they mould their appeals based on low-level materialism, they will fail to capture imaginations and regain power. Bottom of the pyramid is bottom of the barrel. A nation needs more aspirations than just the promise of 'rival tribes united by a shopping mall,' but I'll give you a gun so you'll be safe in the world the corporations plan for you. If this is all the GOP is offering up, they will lose.
